The 2014/15 season saw Chelsea as run away champions with a whopping 87 points, 8 points clear of runners-up Manchester City. We got to see Fabregas at his creative best and the unpredictable antics of a goal hungry Diego Costa!
Prior to writing this article, I was aware of some of the great rookies in this set. So naturally I was very excited to get this list done.

10 – Jeffrey Schlupp Rookie Sticker – #190
Schlupp possesses remarkable speed and athleticism, which allows him to make powerful runs down the flank and cover significant ground on the pitch. His explosiveness and agility make him a constant threat going forward, as he can quickly break past defenders and provide dangerous crosses into the box. Schlupp’s pace also enables him to recover defensively and track back efficiently, making him a valuable asset in both attacking and defensive transitions.
Jeffrey isn’t a glamorous player, but he is a hard work team player and has been a vital cog for the teams he’s played with. He has been a reliable player in the Premier League for over 10 years and has always been popular among the fans. It should be noted that Schlupp was a key player in Leicester’s miracle title winning campaign.
Here is his rookie sticker and a very unique one for the collection.
9 – Ben Mee Rookie Sticker – #61
Ben Mee is renowned for his strong physical presence and excellent positioning, which make him a reliable defender. He has a good sense of anticipation, allowing him to read the game effectively and make timely interceptions and tackles. Mee’s positioning also enables him to cover his defensive partners and provide crucial support in the backline.
One of Mee’s standout attributes is his aerial prowess. He possesses impressive height and timing, which make him a formidable presence during set-pieces and defensive headers. Mee is adept at winning aerial duels and clearing the ball from dangerous areas, providing stability to his team’s defence.
Mee has been one of the Premier Leagues most reliable players. He spent 10 years at Burnley being instrumental in their premier league survival and has since moved to Brentford, being a regular starter in the center of defence.
8 – Danny Ings Rookie Sticker – #72
Danny Ings possesses excellent technical skills, which he combines with his agility and quickness to create goal-scoring opportunities. He is adept at making intelligent runs, exploiting spaces in the opposition’s defence, and finding gaps to receive the ball in dangerous positions.
One of Ings’ standout attributes is his finishing ability. He is clinical in front of goal, with both feet and his head, and has a knack for finding the back of the net. Ings displays good composure when faced with goal-scoring opportunities, often choosing the right technique to beat the goalkeeper. He can finish with power, precision, or finesse depending on the situation.
Ings form earned himself a move to Liverpool. Unfortunately injuries hampered his progress there and he eventually moved Southampton where he showed the best form of his career. He has since played for Aston Villa and now plays at West Ham. His best days are now behind him but he has been a good Premier League striker throughout his career.
7 – Cesc Fabregas – #90 – Rookie Sticker from Merlin English Premier League 2004-2005
Fàbregas is a creative midfielder who excels in dictating the tempo of the game and orchestrating his team’s attacks. His vision and awareness on the field are exceptional, allowing him to spot and execute precise passes over short and long distances. Fàbregas possesses excellent ball control, enabling him to receive the ball in tight spaces and distribute it effectively.
One of Fàbregas’ key strengths is his ability to make incisive through balls and key passes that unlock opposition defences. He possesses a keen sense of timing and anticipation, which enables him to exploit gaps in the defence and create scoring opportunities for his teammates.
His ability to spot a pass was on show during the 2014/15 season, assisting a massive 19 times. Fabregas was instrumental in Chelsea’s EPL title win, and for that reason, he has made it onto the list.
6 – Sergio Aguero – #241 – Rookie Sticker from Panini Clausura 2005 (Argentina)

Despite being hampered by injuries at certain points, he still made a significant impact on the team’s attacking prowess. Throughout the season, Agüero consistently showcased his goal-scoring prowess, netting 26 league goals, winning the golden boot. His ability to score in various ways, including long-range shots and close-range finishes, made him a constant threat for opposing defences. Agüero’s goalscoring record and his ability to come through in clutch moments were instrumental in Manchester City’s pursuit of success.
Aguero has gone down to be City’s greatest ever player to date (2024) and I think this golden boot winning season sticker is a great one for the PC.
5 – Kieran Trippier Rookie Sticker – #58
Trippier has established himself as one of the top full-backs in the game. Trippier’s playing style is characterised by his defensive discipline, tactical awareness, and ability to provide quality deliveries from wide areas. As a right-back, he combines his defensive duties with a strong attacking contribution, making him a valuable asset to his teams.
In terms of attacking contributions, Trippier excels in delivering accurate crosses into the box. His crossing ability is among the best in his position, as he consistently delivers pinpoint crosses from the right flank.
Trippier’s set-piece delivery is another notable aspect of his game. He has the ability to deliver accurate free-kicks and corners, making him a danger all over the pitch.
Trippier has gone onto play for big clubs such as Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United – where he currently player. As of now (2024), Trippier is one of the best defenders in the league and is in and around the English National Team. Definitely a nice rookie sticker to have!
4 – John Stones Rookie Sticker – #131
John Stones is known for his composure on the ball, excellent passing ability, and intelligence in reading the game, Stones has established himself as a highly regarded defender. Defensively, he possesses excellent positioning and reading of the game, allowing him to intercept passes and make crucial tackles. Stones is not known for his physicality or aerial dominance but relies more on his intelligence and anticipation to win the ball.
What sets Stones apart is his exceptional ball-playing ability. He is extremely comfortable in possession and possesses excellent technique and composure. Stones is known for his ability to bring the ball out from the back, initiating attacks from deep areas. His passing range is impressive, as he can accurately deliver short, medium, and long-range passes.
This has been vital for Manchester City’s successes, where he transferred from Everton. He has won countless Premier Leagues and a UCL title. I personally think he doesn’t get enough credit as a defender. Needless to say, this is a nice rookie sticker.
3 – Jaime Vardy Rookie Sticker – #193
Jamie Vardy is a cult hero at Leicester and is renowned for his incredible speed, relentless work rate, and clinical finishing, Vardy has become one of the most prominent forwards in English football. Vardy has explosive pace and relentless pressing. He possesses lightning-fast acceleration and uses it to make powerful runs in behind the opposition defence. Vardy’s speed allows him to outpace defenders and create goal-scoring opportunities for himself and his team.
What sets Vardy apart is his incredible work rate and tireless pressing. He is known for his relentless chasing and harrying of defenders, never giving them a moment of respite. Vardy’s high-intensity pressing disrupts the opposition’s build-up play and forces them into making mistakes.
In terms of finishing, Vardy is clinical in front of goal. He possesses excellent instincts and timing, making him a lethal poacher inside the box. Vardy has a knack for finding space in crowded areas and has a quick release in his shots. His ability to score from various angles and positions, combined with his composed finishing, makes him a constant threat in the penalty area.
Vardy has gone onto put up a very impressive Premier League record, consistently bagging goals every season. He will forever be a legend at Leicester for his loyalty to the club and his instrumental performances in Leicester’s miracle EPL title.

2 – Riyad Mahrez Rookie Sticker – #184
Riyad Mahrez is known for his exceptional technical skills, agility, and creativity, close ball control, quick dribbling, and ability to create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. He possesses excellent close control, allowing him to navigate through tight spaces and beat defenders in one-on-one situations.
One of Mahrez’s standout qualities is his exceptional dribbling ability and clinical first touch. He has a mesmerising repertoire of feints, step-overs, and body movements that often leave defenders bewildered. Mahrez’s close control and balance allow him to glide past opponents effortlessly, creating openings in the opposition’s defence.
Mahrez’s first touch is so good, some consider it to be the best in the world. Premier league fans have compared his first touch to Berbatov’s, which is the highest compliment you can get. Mahrez, like Vardy was crucial in Leicesters title winning season, winning player of the year!
He then moved onto Manchester City where he won everything there is to win. Truely one of the iconic players of the Premier League.
1 – Harry Kane Rookie Sticker – #492
Harry Kane is the best Rookie Sticker in Topps English Premier League 2014-2015.
Harry Kane’s playing style is characterised by his exceptional goal-scoring ability, intelligent movement, and all-around attacking skills. He possesses a unique blend of physicality, technical proficiency, and tactical understanding, making him a complete striker.
One of Kane’s standout qualities is his ability to score goals consistently. He has a natural instinct for finding the back of the net and displays great composure and accuracy in front of goal. Kane is a clinical finisher, capable of scoring with both feet and his head. He is probably the best finisher in the world at the time of writing (2024). In addition to his goal-scoring prowess, Kane is an excellent creator from deep. In addition to being the best finisher in the world, he is one of the best passers and creators from deep.
During the 2014/15 season, Kane had a breakthrough campaign for Tottenham Hotspur. He established himself as the team’s main striker, scoring 21 league goals. He never took a backwards step and became one of the Premier Leagues most lethal strikers, consistently scoring goals every season.
Kane has also become England’s top goal scorer of all time, surpassing Wayne Rooney. By the end of his career he will probably go down as England’s greatest ever striker! He has since left Tottenham for Bayern Munich in the hunt for trophies. He has started his Bayern career like a house on fire, breaking Bundesliga records in his first half of the season.
This is one of the best rookie stickers of the modern era and is already in short supply. If you can get your hands on one, I would advise it, but it won’t be cheap!
Summary
This was a very very strong set by Topps! Not often you will see the top 5 with rookie stickers of this quality. On many other sets Vardy of Mahrez would easily take the number spot, but they were unlucky to land on the set of Harry Kane’s rookie sticker!
