The 2016 Euros set, I think, is a very under-rated set. There is many interesting stickers here, but a key take away is the updated stickers are what make this set. 1, due to their low availability and 2, the players themselves. This review will take this into account. Some stickers that maybe wouldn’t usually make the cut have made the list because of scarcity.
Let’s get into it!
The Panini Euro 2016 Complete Album
10 – Aleksandr Golovin International Rookie Sticker – #180x – True Rookie Sticker from Panini Russian Football Premier League 2014-2015

Golovin’s inclusion is a bit of a wildcard choice from me. He was fantastic in the 2018 World Cup and gained many admirers. He secured a move to AS Monaco and has done well but hasn’t set the world on fire. I think he still has a lot to give and being aged 26, he may have some prime years coming. I would say he just made this list because its his international rookie sticker and in the updated set. Also the fact he is an advanced midfielder that can score goals. Anyone in the hobby knows its usually the stats that drive the price! All that being said, definitely a wildcard addition.
9 – Kevin De Bruyne – #476 – International Rookie Sticker from Panini Road to 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil — True Rookie Sticker from Panini Football Belgium 2010-2011

Kevin De Bruyne is an animal and I think he’s the best player in the English Premier League. He can do it all, score, assist and drive his team forward. This year coupled with Haaland, I think he will break the assists record. Here’s his first sticker in the Euro’s, a very interesting piece and dirt cheap! I recommend picking these up!
8 – Oleksandr Zinchenko International Rookie Sticker – #284x – True Rookie Sticker from Panini Russian Football Premier League 2015-2016

Zinchenko has won championships with City and now is already a fan favourite at Arsenal. I personally love this sticker! Really in his obscurity days playing for the modest Russian outfit, FC Ufa. One of his first ever products and his first ever Ukraine stickers. Already very difficult to get a hold of and Arsenal fans are big collectors; good luck finding these in the future!
7 – Bernardo Silva International Rookie Sticker – #594 – True Rookie Sticker from Panini FOOT 2014-2015

Like KDB, Bernardo is crushing the Premier League. I personally think he’s the best Portuguese player in the world, currently. Incredible tight space control, he wriggles out of tough situations with ease. Perfect for Pep’s high possession style. Additionally, the mans work-rate is incredible, man runs all day. He hasn’t has an amazing career with Portugal yet but with the World Cup approaching, he may have a good tournament. A highly slept on player in the hobby.
6 – Robert Lewandowski – #312 – International Rookie Sticker from Panini UEFA Euro Poland-Ukraine 2012 — True Rookie Sticker from Panini Ekstraklasa 2008-2009

Lewangoalski is a goal scoring machine. You readers don’t need much convincing with this guy. All his products will hold value in the future. A solid pickup and very cheap. But for how long….
5 – N’Golo Kanté International Rookie Sticker – #26x – True Rookie Sticker from Panini FOOT 2014-2015

Does anyone hate Kanté? I haven’t met anyone. The nicest guy in football and a star on the pitch. Here’s his international rookie sticker and from the update set. Because he broke onto the scene quite late, there is not many of his products in circulation. A big collectors item and will be very tough to find in the future.
4 – Cristiano Ronaldo – #596 – International Rookie Sticker from Panini UEFA Euro Portugal 2004 — True Rookie Sticker from Panini Futebol 2002-2003

I think most could agree, CR7 is the best European player ever to grace a football pitch. His fourth Euro’s sticker but still very sought after. Anything Ronaldo will always fetch a fee. Needless to say, a must have.
3 – Marcus Rashford Rookie Sticker – #146x

Rashford broke onto the scene like a house on fire! In recent times his form has had a slump but the talent is still there. The update set sticker is one of his first products and I think Rashford has a lot of credit in the bank. An immensely popular figure on and off the pitch, I still think this is a viable investment. Maybe he was overhyped or maybe there is more to come?
I think regardless Manchester United collectors will need his international rookie sticker in their collection!
2 – Leroy Sané International Rookie Sticker – #256x – True Rookie Sticker from Panini FIFA 365: 2015-2016

Another rookie from the updated set! Sané has got cooking with Bayern this year, and by the end of the season will have some huge numbers. If he cements his place as Bayern’s key goal scorer, this will be an incredible sticker to have! A vacuum has been left following Lewandowski’s departure and it seems Sané is helping fill the void. A good performance for Germany this World Cup and expect this to be a very valuable sticker.
1 – Joshua Kimmich International Rookie Sticker – #251x – True Rookie Sticker from Panini FC Bayern München 2015-2016

Kimmich is probably Bayern’s best player and is already a club legend. Here is his international rookie sticker and it’s from the updated set. I can’t see Kimmich ever leaving Bayern and if he keeps dominating the centre of the park this will be a huge product. I have been looking for these and I am still yet to find them for a price I am willing to pay. This takes the number 1 spot because I think its the safest investment from this set, and that is super praise for Kimmich; usually the number 1 place is reserved for the goal scorers!
Final Word
As I said in the introduction, I believe this is an under-rated set. Also involved in this set is: Embolo’s rookie sticker, Renato Sanches’ true rookie, Rooney, Modrić, Pogba, Ibrahimović, Pirlo, Sterling, Bale, Özil, Müller, Iniesta, Thiago, David Silva, Hazard and more….
It hurts me to leave out Pirlo in his last ever product with Italy. I based my list on what I think will hold the most value in the future. Maybe the hobby will shift and appreciate players final products, but as of now, the focus is on rookies and early stickers.
Let me know what you think in the comments 🙂
