Last season (2022/23) saw Arsenal just falling short of the Premier League title, with Manchester City eventually overpowering them to the finish line. At the time of writing this article, it is the mid-way point of the 2023/24 season, and Liverpool sit top of the table. It is hard to predict who will win the Premier League, but it seems like Liverpool have the most rounded and consistent squad. That being said, you can never write off Manchester City with last season being strong evidence of that!

This top 10 list will most feature predictions of how players will turn out as no one has a crystal ball! Maybe in a few years I will be able to revise this top 10 list to better reflect which sticker are the true top 10.

Enough rambling. Let’s get into the top 10!

10 – Luca Koleosho Rookie Sticker – #184

"Luca

Luca is a left winger currently playing for a struggling Burnley outfit, totalling 15 Premier League appearances so far. Prior to his move to Burnley, Luca impressed for Spanish side, Espanyol. His performances caught the eye of Vincent Kompany and lead to his signing to the newly promoted Burnley.

The 19 year old winger is known for his electric pace and confidence when taking of opposition defenders. He primarily operates from wide areas with the aim of driving towards the penalty area. He has managed 1 league goal so far this season in 15 matches; he hasn’t exactly set the world alight.

That being said, he is a young man and has been getting vital top flight minutes, which can only be positive for his development. I am looking forward to how he progresses in the coming years.

9 – Yousseff Chermiti Rookie Sticker – #275

"Yousseff

Chermiti is a rangy striker standing at a whopping 192 cm. Emerging from Sporting CP’s youth setup, his potential was noticed by Everton, earning him a 12 million pound move. Yousseff has been involved in Portugal’s youth teams since the U15’s scoring goals in each the U:15s, 16s, 18s, 19s and 20s.

Chermiti’s play style is unique for a player of his height. He specialises in his first touch and ball control, with the additional ability to run at defenders. As he develops into a stronger and more athletic player, his ability to disrupt opposition defenders will be substantially increased. The physical potential combined with the technical exsisting ability leaves Yousseff being an interesting prospect.

Perhaps this is what Everton were seeing when the outlaid 12 million pounds for an unproven striker. I personally think that Everton is a one of the best places he can develop as physical application is a must.

8 – Ben Doak Rookie Sticker – #373

"Ben

Doak is a young Scottish right winger who recently signed from Celtic. The deal totalled to be 600k, but don’t be deceived by this small price as it was a compensation deal for a free transfer on a youth player.

So far Doak has featured only 3 times in the Premier League with many superstars ahead of him in the winger positions. In addition, he has experienced some injury troubles along the way. Ben’s play style centers around his ability to run with the ball and take players on. He is known for his direct play running at defenders, keeping them on the back-foot, before whipping in dangerous crosses.

It’s early to say how much of a success he will be in a Liverpool shirt, but with Klopp at the helm, and his success in producing world beating wingers, there is no better place for Doak to be.

7 – Julian Alvarez – #426 – Rookie Sticker from Panini 365 2019/20

"Julian

It is no secret how good this guy is! He has pretty much everything there is to win at his early age, including a World Cup! He is a forward that is an absolute hand full for defenders to deal with. He can come deep to get the ball or make runs in behind whilst being equally proficient on both feet. He can run at defenders leaving them to back track but in addition has the ability to shoot from range if not closed down. Truely a defenders nightmare, keeping them guessing at every turn.

His rookie sticker is from Panini 365 2019/20 which I think is his best product. He still makes the list because I personally think he is set for a monster career and this sticker is early enough in his career to have potential value longterm.

6 – Erling Haaland – #425 – Rookie Sticker from Panini Austrian Bundesliga 2019/20

"Erling

Haaland’s quality is now known worldwide. He literally scores goals for fun!

Theres not much of a description needed here, his goal record speaks for itself!

At 23 years old there is plenty more of his products to come out and I think any Haaland product’s this early in his career are sure to be money makers. Barring something sensational happening, this guy is not going to stop scoring.

5 – Carlos Baleba Rookie Sticker – #153

"Carlos

Baleba, aged 20, signed for Brighton from French side Lille after featuring 21 times in Ligue 1. He is best deployed in the center of midfield known for his interceptions and passing ability. He is also capable of playing in defence.

Carlos is not the tallest player (179 cm) but he has an exceptional leap, giving him an impressive aerial presence. Additionally, he can run all day making him a very effective player on the transition.

It is clear Brighton’s thinking when signing Carlos was to have him as a replacement for Moises Caicedo, who has transferred to Chelsea. Given Brighton’s track record in signing players of late, it’s hard to disregard the potential player Baleba may become.

He has already featured 12 times in the league for a competitive Brighton squad and looks set to become a regular. You would imagine the big boys will come knocking soon enough.

4 – Elliot Anderson Rookie Sticker – #335 & 479

"Elliot

Elliot is a youth product of Newcastle and naturally popular with the fans. Anderson is a driving midfielder who loves the ball at his feet and the opportunity to dribble. The young midfielder had a very successful loan spell at EFL team Bristol Rovers, appearing 21 times in the league bagging 8 goals from midfield.

His ability to run with the ball has led to comparisons to Maradona by former Newcastle player Joey Barton. Of course this is a hefty comparison from not the most popular football figure, but nonetheless, it has been said!

Anderson is very much liked by the currently Newcastle manager, Eddie Howe, but unfortunately for Elliot, he has had some injury problems keeping him out of the first team. I personally like the potential Elliot has. There is not many midfielders these days that have great technique and like to run with the ball.

3 – Stefan Bajcetic Rookie Sticker – #363

"Stefan

Bajcetic was a product of the Celta Vigo academy in Spain and his talent was identified early by Liverpool, earning him a move in 2022. The 19 year old has been very impressive when he has played for Liverpool and has featured 24 times. It seems like it has been a recurring theme in this article, but injuries have also hampered Stefans progress and first team opportunities.

Stefan is a midfielder than can also play defence. He has incredible speed with a huge leap, giving him very impressive physical characteristics. He excels in his ball recoveries and was known for his ability to bring the ball out of defence in his Celta academy days.

The highlight of his career so far was his man of the match performance for Liverpool in the derby vs Everton. Bajcetic was deployed in the center of the pitch and won 100 percent of his aerial duals whilst getting 6 ball recoveries. Maybe more impressively, he had 10/12 final third passes completed with 2 key passes.

As previously mentioned, an injury hampered his progress, limiting his 2023/24 game time. I am confident he can break into the first team and have a big impact for Liverpool in the coming years.

2 – Rico Lewis Rookie Sticker – #415

"Rico

Rico Lewis at age 19 has already amassed 21 appearances in the Premier League for the best team the world! Lewis is a special talent with composure beyond his years and has already gained a cap for England.

Under Pep Guardiola, Rico Lewis has been deployed as the modern inverted fullback. When City are in possession, Rico moves up into midfield to help dictate the tempo of the game. He is very profficient at passing the ball, which is a must in Pep’s system. He is also very brave with his passes with the intention of breaking the opposition line.

It is difficult to say where Rico’s future position will be. It is possible he is being mentored into being a dominant central midfielder or perhaps he will stay as an inverted wingback. Given his football IQ at 18 years of age, I am confident Rico will become one of the world footballing stars in the future.

1 – Kobbie Mainoo Rookie Sticker – #459

"Kobbie

Kobbie Mainoo is the best Rookie Sticker of Panini English Premier League 2023/24.

This season has been a breakout year for the young (18) Kobbie Mainoo, arguably being Manchester United’s shining light in a poor season thus far. The youngster operates as a center midfield, excelling in dictating the play with his passes and the ability to consistently cover the whole pitch.

Kobbie Mainoo is a technically gifted player who has the rare trait of keeping calm and composed under pressure. His physical capabilities also impressive and he has fit seamlessly into Ten Haag’s pressing system. For his age the best comparison would be Paul Pogba, who was also an academy player at United.

It seems Kobbie has impressed Ten Haag enough to be a regular in United’s midfield. At just 18 years old, it seems Mainoo could be set for a huge career. If he continues on the current trajectory, this could be a huge rookie sticker in the future!

Update: Since writing, he has been chosen for the England 2024 Euros squad!

Summary

This was definitely a tough one to rank! Mostly involving predictions of the future, who knows how all these players will turn out. It was a fun set to try figure out and I hope you guys enjoyed reading.
