The 2010/11 season saw Borussia Dortmund won the Bundesliga title. They finished with a total of 75 points, seven points ahead of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen. Bayern Munich finished third, while Hannover 96 and Mainz 05 secured the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, and earned qualification to the UEFA Europa League.

The relegation battle was intense, with four teams fighting to avoid the bottom two spots. In the end, Eintracht Frankfurt and St. Pauli were relegated to the second division, while Borussia Monchengladbach secured a playoff spot victory against the third-placed team in the second division.

The Topps German Football Bundesliga 2010-2011 is an exciting set where we see the introduction of two of the legends of German football. This will be a fun one to rank. Let’s get into the top 10!

10 – André Schürrle Rookie Sticker – #275

"André

Schürrle was primarily known for his explosive pace, quick feet, and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations. He was an intelligent player who was also comfortable playing as a central striker or as a secondary striker. Schürrle had a powerful shot and was particularly adept at scoring from outside the box.

Schürrle was known for his excellent work rate and was willing to track back and defend when needed. His tactical intelligence and versatility allowed him to fit into different systems and formations, making him a valuable player for any team.

The 2010/11 season was André’s best ever season, scoring 15 goals and helping Mainz to a 5th place finish.

Schürrle played for many big teams, including Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, but he never really got back his scoring touch.

An interesting rookie sticker; he didn’t have an amazing career but he did rack up 57 caps with 22 goals, as well as a World Cup winner’s medal! With stats like that, most would think it’s an incredible career but Schürrle is somewhat of an enigma, retiring very early at the age of 29.

9 – Marco Reus – #293 – Rookie Sticker from Topps German Bundesliga 2009/10

"Reus

Reus has excellent technical ability and is an expert at dribbling past defenders. He is also a creative player who can provide assists for his teammates. His finishing ability is outstanding, and he is capable of scoring goals from a variety of positions and angles.

In the 2010/11 season, Reus scored 10 goals and providing 8 assists. Borussia Monchengladbach had a terrible season, finishing third from bottom, having to win. theplayoff to stay in the Bundesliga. Reus was a rare shining light in a terrible season.

Reus moved to Borussia Dortmund following the next season and has cemented himself as a club legend as is their captain.

Technically Reus’ 2nd year sticker, but still a great sticker early in the career of a future superstar.

8 – Toni Kroos – #313 – Rookie Sticker from Topps German Bundesliga 2009/10

"Kroos

Toni Kroos is known for his technical ability, vision, passing range, and tactical intelligence.

Kroos is primarily known as a deep-lying playmaker, who is responsible for dictating the tempo of the game and initiating attacks from midfield. He has excellent vision and passing ability, and is capable of playing accurate long balls to switch the play or create goal-scoring opportunities.

Kroos also possesses great technique, which enables him to control the ball well and create space for himself in tight situations. His decision-making is also considered to be one of his strengths, as he is able to identify the right pass or movement quickly.

In the 2010/11 season, Kroos featured 27 times, scoring once and assisting 4. It was a disappointing season for Bayern, and Kroos, finishing third.

Kroos has gone onto to be one of the greatest ever midfielders, mostly from his time at Real Madrid, winning countless trophies.

A 2nd year sticker of one of the greats to do it in midfield is not a bad choice if you ask me!

7 – Max Kruse Rookie Sticker – #356

"Max

Kruse is known for his versatility, being able to play in multiple positions across the front line, including as a striker, winger, and attacking midfielder. He is a technically gifted player with good dribbling skills, close control, and excellent vision. He is also a smart and creative player, capable of playing intricate passes and creating opportunities for his teammates.

During his 2010/11 season with FC St. Pauli, Kruse only scored 2 goals in 33 appearances, where his team had a poor season, finishing bottom of the table.

In the 2012/13 season Kruse was signed by Freiburg and has gone on to play for: Borussia Mönchengladbach, Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen, Fenerbahce and Union Berlin.

Kruse has been a solid player throughout the years averaging around 10 goals per season. He has been a joy to watch with his very technical style.

A random aside fact: Kruse is an avid poker player, winning money on various occasions. His poker habits led to him being fined by Wolfsburg and also losing his place in the German National Team.

Kruse has had an interesting career, supremely talented, but maybe the application wasn’t quite there. Nonetheless, a nice rookie sticker for the collection.

6 – Lars Stindl Rookie Sticker – #134

"Lars

Lars Stindl is known for his versatility and intelligence on the pitch. He is capable of playing in several positions, including central midfield, attacking midfield, and on the wings. He possesses excellent technical skills, vision, and passing abilities, which allow him to create chances for his teammates and orchestrate attacks from midfield.

In the 2010/11 season, was Stindl’s first for Hannover, since signing from Karlsruher. He was a crucial player for his team, playing in 33 matches and scoring twice. Hannover finished a very impressive fourth.

He stayed at Hannover for 5 seasons before signing for Borussia Mönchengladbach. He has been a great servant for Borussia Mönchengladbach and is their current team captain.

One of the more unappreciated players in the Bundesliga. Stindl has always been a consistent performer and I think thats a good reason to collect his rookie sticker.

5 – Joel Matip Rookie Sticker – #373 &232

"Joel

Joel Matip is a complete modern centre-back who combines physicality, athleticism, technical ability, and intelligence to excel in his position.

Matip’s physicality and athleticism make him a formidable presence in the air, both defensively and offensively. Matip’s technical ability and composure on the ball also make him comfortable playing out from the back.

During the 2010/11 season, Matip played for Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga, where he was a regular starter in central defence. He quickly established himself as a talented young defender with excellent potential.

Schalke had a terrible season for their standards, finishing 14th, but they still qualified for Europe as winners of the 2010–11 DFB-Pokal.

After nearly 200 appearances for Schalke, Matip earned a move to Liverpool, where he has won Premier League and Champions League titles!

A great rookie sticker to pick up. A popular player among both Liverpool and Schalke fans. A solid center back in a great Liverpool resurgence.

4 – Thomas Müller – #318 &229 – First League Sticker – Rookie Sticker from Panini FC Bayern München 2009-2010

"Muller

Müller’s playing style is characterized by his high work rate, tactical intelligence, and excellent spatial awareness. He has been dubbed a raumdeuter, translated from German means “space investigator”.

Müller is a master of finding spaces and making runs into the box, which allows him to get into scoring positions and create opportunities for his teammates. His intelligent movement and ability to read the game make him a difficult player for defenders to track and mark.

One of Müller’s greatest strengths is his ability to score goals. He has excellent finishing ability and is a clinical striker of the ball, with a powerful and accurate shot. He also has great awareness in the box and is able to score with his head or feet, as well as from a variety of positions.

During the 2010/11 season, Müller had a breakout year for Bayern Munich. He scored 12 goals and provided 12 assists in 34 league appearances.

Thomas is a true Bayern legend, currently on his 15th top flight season with the club! He has won the Bundesliga 11 times, and could be 12 by the end of the year!

Technically not his rookie sticker because he features on a Bayern exclusive Panini set the year before. But, it is his first sticker in a Bundesliga set, which is super cool. Highly recommended sticker!

3 – Shinji Kagawa Rookie Sticker – #42

"Shinji

Kagawa played primarily in an attacking midfield role, behind the striker, and was often tasked with creating scoring opportunities for his teammates.

Kagawa’s has excellent ball control, dribbling skills, and precise passing. He has a great ability to read the game, anticipate movements, and find open spaces on the field. Additionally, he has a keen eye for goal, often demonstrating his clinical finishing ability.

In the 2010/11 season, Kagawa was a standout performer for Dortmund, scoring 8 goals and 18 league appearances. His performances were integral to Dortmund’s Bundesliga title win that season.

Kagawa’s impressive form continued into the following season, where he helped Dortmund secure their second consecutive Bundesliga title. His performances earned him a move to Manchester United in the English Premier League. Then in 2014, he returned to Dortmund and played in 5 more seasons.

Kagawa is hugely popular in Japan, with 97 caps! With a great career at Dortmund and Unites, this rookie sticker is a no brainer!

2 – Mario Götze Rookie Sticker – #40 & #218

"Mario

Mario Götze is known for his technical ability, dribbling skills, and vision on the pitch.

Götze has excellent dribbling skills and is often able to beat defenders in one-on-one situations. He is also a creative player who is capable of providing assists and setting up goals for his teammates. He has great vision and is able to pick out passes that others may not see.

Götze’s playing style is not only about creating chances for his team, but he is also a goal scorer. He has a powerful shot from distance and is capable of scoring goals with both feet. He has a good understanding of positioning, and he often makes runs into the box to get on the end of crosses and through balls.

In the 2010/11 season, Götze emerged as a star for Borussia Dortmund. At just 18 years old, he scored six goals and provided 12 assists in 33 appearances in the league. He played a key role in Dortmund’s Bundesliga-winning campaign.

Götze has also played for Bayern, PSV and Eintracht Frankfurt. Many would say Mario was a case of peaking early, never really matching his form as a young man.

Whether thats the case or not, Götze will forever be immortalised in football for scoring the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup Final!

For that reason alone, this rookie sticker is a must for every football fan out there!

1 – Robert Lewandowski – #40 – Rookie Sticker from Panini Ekstraklasa 2008-2009 (Polish Set)

Ever since, he has been putting the ball in the back of the net for fun, with a goal tally north of 500!

Lewandowski has continued to excel in the years since, scoring goals at an incredible rate establishing himself as one of the best to ever do it!

Having played for popular teams such as Dortmund, Bayern and Barcelona, coupled with his insane goal record, Lewandowski’s first Bundesliga sticker is a huge one! This will be a historic sticker for the hobby.
