And my honest, straightforward answer is always the same: eBay. (ebay.com)
Why eBay?
eBay is the best platform to sell trading cards because it gives you access to the biggest marketplace in the world. Simple as that. Global reach, massive buyer base, and serious collectors actively searching for specific cards every single day.
If you have: higher-end cards, rare inserts, autographs and numbered cards, then eBay is where they belong!
But eBay Isn’t for Everything
That said, not every card should be listed on eBay.
If you’re trying to sell 1€ cards, chances are they’ll just sit there. Between fees, competition, and shipping costs, it often doesn’t make sense.
And this is where, as a European seller, we have a very strong alternative.
Vinted: Underrated and Extremely Useful
For low-end cards (1–5€), Vinted can actually be better than eBay.
Why?
- No seller commission
- Buyer pays the fee
- Simple, fast, and casual marketplace
Vinted is perfect for:
- base cards
- cheap inserts
- bulk-type listings
- quick flips
It’s not a collector’s paradise like eBay, but it does exactly what it needs to do — turn low-value inventory into cash.
My Personal Opinion
I’ve seen people constantly pushing for new platforms to pop up. New apps, new marketplaces, new ideas.
But honestly? We don’t need more platforms.
Between eBay and Vinted, most sellers already have everything they need for daily operations.
The real issue isn’t the lack of platforms — it’s the lack of understanding of:
- what you’re selling
- where it makes sense to sell it
- and how to optimize the platforms you already use
As I’ve told my friends a million times:
“We need to perfect the platforms we have, not keep creating new ones.”
Inventory Reality Check
Here’s the hard truth.
How are you going to properly manage a 20,000-item inventory across multiple platforms?
It’s time-consuming. It’s inefficient. And when you’re sitting on that much stock, your priority should be clear:
turn inventory into money — as fast as possible.
The more platforms you add, the harder that becomes.
Final Thoughts
Use:
- eBay for your strong, desirable, higher-value cards
- Vinted for your low-end, fast-moving stock
Master those two, understand your inventory, and you’ll be miles ahead of most sellers. I should note, Vinted is for the EU only, so if you are outside of the EU, your local buy swap and sell pages would be the way to go!
