Despite whatever other “influencers” and “hobby experts” might say to you that “the market is down” and “sell everything”, I have ended 2024 as the best of my “hobby career”.
Before I get started, I will do a shameless plug! Follow me on instagram @ ohobbyemportugues

In this post I will be sharing some of my insights, some of the “juicy” stuff and, as always, good knowledge and the truth to you.
This was the year where all of my goals were reached and records where shattered – but let’s start with total sales:
As at the time of writing this (31/12/2024) – I made a total of 531 sales. 531! This is an average of 1.4 sales a day and 44 per month. I almost reached the ludacris amount of 2 sales a day (round number) which is crazy. I did not set a target for this criteria, just went with the flow, but I always aim for what I did last year (2023), which was 347 sales – and I did 184 more than 2023.The best month was July, where I did 81 sales (almost 3 per day). Crazy numbers, for someone who does this as part time. I’ve added new countries to my “hobby presence” with sales to the more common countries, such as USA, Canada, UK, China, Germany, but some “exotic” ones, such as Chile, Saudi Arabia (thank you CR7), Estonia, Norway, Chile, Israel and Australia. According to ebay, I sold to 28 different countries this year. Again, a new record. In 2024 I’ve reached a milestone – the 1000th sale! We now sit at 1325 total sales.
Why did the sales go up you might ask? Well, to me it has to do with new marketplaces to sell/buy stuff that have been popping out. More places to advertise your product, means new people you can reach and the more you reach, the more likely it is to sell. I’ve been constantly adapting, alway trying new things – some tweaks here and there – and in reality, it’s been productive. New people joining in the hobby always helps too – but if you don’t have the right product to “grab” them, you won’t sell. It’s a case of always trying to stay ahead of the curve, and, as some people have said to me – I’m one of the best at doing it.

Average price per sale went down 8% from 2023, but, in reality, nothing crazy, just 1€ difference. I sold more, so, it’s natural that average price sales went down as you increase the amount of sales – unless you sell a lot of high end products. But this I think will be the norm, as the market corrects from the crazy years that were 2020 and 2021.
Revenue of the year increased (and it’s here that some of the values go up) by 45%. I’ve set a new record on total revenue – which I think will be a goal that will be hard to beat in 2025. And total profit of 2024 was 4 digits. Again, for me, these are crazy numbers. Never did I expect that I would be having this 2024 when the year started.
I’m very grateful for you guys, and especially some of you that bought from me this year. You guys are the ones that keep me pushing and grinding all day, and in part, contribute to my success. I sincerely thank you.
And what’s next?
Well, the next step to do is try to optimize this and try to snowball it. I did some good things, and some bad things – I just optimize what I have. Trying new things and being aggressive on some deals, that I’ve previously had success. Only time will tell.
Goals for 2025:
- Have at least 365 sales (1 per day)
- 3 months of 500€ of revenue
- Targeting for 3000€ in revenue (and see if I can get there in the shortest time possible).
And that’s it for 2024. OHobby out.
