Last January I made an article about how you should trust your decisions and they might be right, despite what others might think. This is a part 2 on that, let’s call, “mini series” (as I intend to release a part 3 sooner or later during this year)
Why You Should Trust Your Gut and Hold for the Long Run – Part 1
The year is 2022 – Last 16 of the World Cup – Portugal x Switzerland. Gonçalo Ramos is the starter for Portugal, up front, while Ronaldo stayed on the bench. I immediately told on my friends group chat “ Ramos 3 goals today, you can screenshot it” (till today I think this is my best call ever).
Back to the game – Ramos scored in the early stages of the game and I got a notification of a sale – probably one of his rookie cards. Nothing crazy, back in 2021 and 2022 this was the norm – I would sell as soon as someone would score a goal. But I was not expecting a proper masterclass – a hattrick. I got 2 more sales. It was crazy. I was listing stuff, and 10 minutes later, they were sold.

And this is where I trust my gut. I decided to list everything I had – including PC items – of Gonçalo Ramos, without hesitation. I only kept the numbered card I had of him, and now looking back at that time, I should have sold it. I knew that sooner or later I could get the items back, much cheaper. So that’s what I did. Portugal could have gone all the way and won it? Yes, but would Ramos be as impactful as he was in this game? Probably not.

Selling everything was probably the best decision I ever made – since Portugal was knocked out in the next game.
OHobby out!
