At 41 years and 113 days, Pepe broke the record as the oldest player ever to play in the Euros. He broke the Gábor Király (you know, the keeper who wore pants) record from when he played in the 2016 Euros at 40 years old.
But you might think, okay OHobby he might have been called up, but surely he was just there for his locker room experience and just to be the 4th choice CB. Wrong! At the time of writing this, he started both games – vs Czechia and Turkey – and quite frankly, he still got it!

Pepe had a 7.35 average rating in the first two games
Arguably the best Portuguese CB of all time, he just does not show any signs that he will retire! Currently a free agent, he last played for FC Porto – where he was the starting CB. Due to the club’s financial situation, he was forced to leave the club. Maybe he will join Cristiano Ronaldo in Al Nassr?
Now, the hobby part. I proudly own what I think it’s a one of kind sticker – Pepe’s rookie sticker (action) from 2003-04 Panini Futebol #202 – in a PSA 10 slab!

PSA 10 Pepe Rookie Sticker – still from his days at Marítimo
And why do I think it’s a one of a kind sticker? Well, as you might know, stickers like these do not show up on a regular basis. Packs? You can pretty much forget about that as well. People used to throw away stickers when they completed the album (kinda crazy right) so you can reduce the population available more and more. So the conditions to have a perfect sticker are less and less likely.
I proudly say that I own this and you probably won’t see any other like this any time soon. I’m confident in saying that this sticker is part of the hobby history of Portugal – one of those that any collector would like to have in their PC – sitting next to a PSA 10 Megacraques RC of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ohobby out!
