PSA GRADING – Card Cleaning – why it is important?
In my relatively short experience, with grading companies, I can say I have relatively good success. In my last PSA sub, out of 5 cards, I got 2 PSA 10s and 2 PSA 9s (with the other being a 7, but I knew it would not be a gem). In my prediction, I predicted at least 3 PSA 10s and 1 PSA 9 (which ended up being a PSA 9).
Don’t get me wrong, the card itself is the major reason for the grade – but with some products you might get some fingerprints on the cards – and you don’t want to send them that way for grading. That could lead to a bad grade!
In the video above I used a microfiber cloth to clean any dust/fingerprints that the surface of the card might have. This way the card will have a clean surface – which can lead to a bigger grade. Video can also be seen on my Instagram – plus much more!
Gloves are important too – that way you ensure that no fingerprints will be in the card – would be misleading to clean the surface and leave some fingerprints.
Then I used a new penny sleeve. A new penny sleeve means that no dust is there – trust me this step it’s important. I found dust on the sleeves in the cards I meant to send to grading – so I had to clean them all again and change the sleeves. Don’t skip this step.
Then, afterwards, you put it on a card saver – and voilá read to be graded!
